Florida baseball picked up a potential impact bat from the transfer portal, landing a commitment from Miami infielder Blake Cyr on Monday.

A freshman All-American for the Hurricanes in 2023, Cyr batted .305 with 50 runs scored, 12 doubles, 17 homers and 63 RBI in his first year as a collegian. This season, Cyr batted .284 with 7 home runs and 21 RBI as he was limited to 25 games due to a thumb injury that sidelined him in early April.

A former Windemere High standout, Cyr played both at second base and in the outfield during his two seasons at UM. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

The Florida Gators (34-28) reached the College World Series for the 14th time in school history, winning the NCAA Clemson Super Regional with an 11-10, 13-inning win over Clemson on Sunday.

Cyr joins Texas Tech infielder Landon Stripling and Jacksonville infielder Justin Nadeauֱas the third transfer that the Gators have picked up for the 2025 season.
