College World Series weather: Updated bracket, schedule after rain postpones Tuesday nightcap

USA TODAY NETWORK

The winner of No. 2 Kentuckyֱs matchup with Florida in a 2024 College World Series elimination game will earn the right to keep their championship dreams alive for at least one more day.

Now, thanks to circumstances outside of their control, that will remain true for both teams.

More:

What was scheduled as a 7 p.m. ET first pitch between the Wildcats and Gators Tuesday night has been pushed back to Wednesday due to impending weather in the Omaha, Nebraska area, with the NCAA of the move Tuesday afternoon.

Whoever wins between Kentucky and Florida will advance to play No. 3 Texas A&M, which either the Wildcats or Gators would have to defeat twice in order to advance to the CWS championship series.

Both the Wildcats and Gators are on the brink of being knocked out of the double-elimination tournament because of losses to Texas A&M, with Kentucky falling to the Aggies 5-1 Monday night and Florida dropping a 3-2 decision in its CWS opener last Saturday night.
